Garbage - You Look So Fine |
] |
I've got a new shiny computer, well, a laptop.

I can run Photoshop, Azureus, Firefox, Winamp and Trillian at the same time and still no sign of the computer freezing. That being impossible on my 5 years old computer. The screen is so bright that now all my pictures look extremely clear. I do miss my spanish qwerty keyboard. The french azerty keyboard is such a crap. I have to shift to get the numbers and dots, it's nonsense. And I keep typing q instead of a.
I left for a week for holiday. Awesome, I'm going to lay for six days next to a swimming pool I thought. I did get a chance to swim, but I spent most of the time visiting family I've never known about, and frankly it's a bit too late now. I do have some really sweet distant cousins.
Just before I left, I re-did my LJ header. I like bright colors. And a new layout for Fallen Shades which had been dead for too long. I might even make fan art before I leave, in two weeks. Now I'm going to leave to watch more Arrested Development. I love my bright screen.

Woo!! I haven't been checking LJ that often... because I just realized the blicole font trend is spreading like a disease, it's everywhere. Some people just don't know when to stop.
Random pictures. I need to go out more and take pictures of the city.

While a large part of my friends list is getting excited about the new season of Six Feet Under (the trailer is indeed beautiful), I'm waiting for the second season of The 4400 to start and there're only a few fans in my friends list. So, let's go to the point, watch the show:

Wow, first post of 2005. This calls for a celebration. I'm bored as hell, and even more I'd say, I'm apathetic. But, but, I made a new layout for my LJ. Scarlett is still very pretty. And I started watching Spooks (MI-5), but only the third season, because it's the only one still available to download. I'm in love with this show. I turned 20 this Tuesday, I had so many things to do that I actually forgot about it until my mum told me.

The Joan of Arcadia premiere made me happy, I can't wait to see the next episode tomorrow. Amber Tamblyn looks so pretty. Watch JoA people. Everwood, where did the pretty opening credits go? I want it back. The little time I have is used to watch 24 episodes (tony/michelle omg!1!1). That said, I'm leaving. Pointless entry I much agree.

I'm staying up all night to watch the VMAs...not. I'd like to think there was a time when I would get excited to know who was going to win. Ok, maybe the breakthrough category is rather worthy.

Yeah, the Olympic games opening ceremony was ok, until Björk started singing. No wait ... moaning. Until then, the ceremony was good. They did an amazing job with the light effects and specially the lasers on the smoke at the end. The only opening I've seen beside this one was Barcelona '92, I still think the archer lighting the flame was more spectacular than this one. Now, the commenter was absolutely ... annoying.
"And here we have Georgia, and the capital is... *looks Atlas* ...Tbilisi, of course"
Other commenter
"Oh dear, we are amazed by the amount of information you are providing us today"
"And here we have the olympic flag, symbol of peace. It is amazing how an event like this can unite the whole world..and blah"
Go away. We had no commercials. :D

Text is a nightmare. I started this wallpaper over two months ago, adding a few details from time to time, and trying to avoid using the same style of text I've been using for my last wallpapers. Not exactly a success.

The Mars Volta - Eriatarka |

First of all Happy Birthday schmoosey! I wish you the best and hope you will have a wonderful day.
I started reading the books I'm supposed to study this year. And hopefully this will be the last year I'll have to take philosophy/french. I don't mind listening but when it's my turn to write then it's much more challenging. Anyhow, one of the book is by Kafka and gathers two rather short stories. The Metamorphosis and Description of Combat (translated literally). While the first is easy to understand, the second is completely illegible. The entire story seem to be composed of many fragments that altogether make no sense. I'm puzzled. I also have to finish Children of Dune. I loved the two previous books, but now I seem stuck in the middle of this one.
Ok, too much book talk. I saw the finale of Firefly yesterday, and now, all I've got left are the extras. Out of Gas along with Heart of Gold have to be my favorite episodes. Out of Gas is incredible because the beginning and the end of the story are intertwined but at the same time you don't know what event led to the end until some time. A non spoilerish spoiler! Just ignore me...you've seen it so you know. Heart of Gold had so much Mal/Inara angst, oh pretty. And Melinda Clarke is pretty too. I can't wait until Serenity is released, maybe even here, I hope.
It also looks like Garden State won't be here until next year, again, if I'm lucky.
My LJ is one year old. I'm amazed because my blog didn't even last that much.

Death Cab For Cutie - A Movie Script Ending |
] |
I must be stopped otherwise I'll be done watching all the episodes of Firefly including the extras too soon. I liked Buffy and loved Angel but Firefly is ... is there even a word that could describe this show? I wasn't all excited about it after seeing the pilot, but the next episodes are truly amazing. It's incredible how Fox always happen to have the best shows but they all get canceled. How can you explain this? Stupid Fox. Thankfully I have a few episodes of That 70's Show so that will distract me for a while
And, and I love Suprnova('s). I Love The 90's is just hilarious and you get to see Chris Pratt. I seem to remember more things about 90 than 91, oh the lambada!
24 caps from the pilot anyone (Stephy, when you're back)? Start on page 4 and go backward.

Minus The Bear - Fine + 2pts |

I watched Donnie Darko yesterday. On the 9th minute, when the rabbit appeared, I was: wtf!? So much that I clicked pause and went to check the movie synopsis on imdb.com because, seriously... Now I've seen the whole movie, I'm confused. I don't know if I understood the movie the way it should. I think I would have to re-watch it.
And I'm finally done downloading Firefly, after 1 month and 4 hours and 10 minutes and... Pretty!cast. The girl who plays Kaylee also plays Heidi in Wonderfalls, I can't dislike her anymore. Strange.

I wanted to make a massive (maybe not that massive) gmail code giveaway, but since I only got one that went to my sister, it won't happen. Gmail is so cheap.
I can give music thought (don't right click and save, just click)
Andrea Maxand - Bedroom Window So Death Cab for Cutie-ish, pretty.
Tori Amos - Datura What a like about this song is the melody.
The Pernice Brothers - Baby in Two This one is coming from peopleareshapes and it's awesome, so I thought I'd share.
Now, I must finish packing. I have a 130 songs CD ready. Wish me luck. Oh, and happy 4th of July.

Dude! Yahoo is on crack. Is it true? I went from 6MB (had an old account) to 100MB of storage. I wasn't using even half of it but who cares. Hotmail looks so ridiculous with its 2MB and the fact that they delete your account if you don't log for 30 days. AHAH! So many space. *worships Yahoo!*

It's official. Apache hates me...or at least Apache hates Windows ME, which is not surprising. I spent the whole afternoon trying to make it work, but it looks like every version has a bug when running under Windows ME.
I saw The Girl Next Door yesterday and I have to say it wasn't as bad as I though it would. It was even cute sometimes. Christopher Marquette surprised me basically because his character is pretty much the opposite of Adam in JoA. The producer was hilarious. Except for that, it's the typical teenager movie. But it was funny. They also did a good job on the soundtrack.

And, four hours for a server maintenance, that's what I call a lousy internet provider. *kicks it*
